We fed the workers!
Pam Mathews, Barbara Robinson, Lynnette Cox, Betty Jacobs, and Pastor Al, of FPC NLR, helped feed the workers who distributed light bulbs Saturday, August 26.  We made 50 sack lunches consisting of sandwiches, chips, cookies, and veggies.  The workers distributed energy saving Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs to the Argenta neighborhood.  They also helped people install them.  State Farm Insurance gave a grant to the Argenta CDC to purchase 1000 light bulbs throughout the community.  The CFL bulbs will help save up to 75% on the consumption of electricity.
State Farm Insurance and the CDC gave 100 of the light bulbs to First Presbyterian Church.  Pastor Al (far right) receives the gift of the bulbs.

 Challenge Update

Remeber that a Dollar for Dollar Grant Match Has Been Offered for the Dr. Jay Frank Ross Memorial Stained Glass Window.

S0 far, we have raised almost $3000.00.  Be praying about what God would have you give to this project.

You will recall that an anonymous benefactor has issued a challenge grant to First Presbyterian Church of North Little Rock.  The grant will match dollar for dollar the money we raise in the next year to pay for the revnovation and restoration of the large stained glass window at the front of the church on the 4th Street side.

The window has started to sag in places and needs to be reworked.  We are fortunate to have a local artisan who is able to do the restoration work.  However, the cost for the project was estimated at $20,000.00.  The money for the challenge grant of $10,000.00 has been deposited in a special account to be held in trust while the matching donations are being made.

Are we up to the challenge?
