Dickey-Stephens Ball Park Preview
(October 3, 2006 -- North Little Rock , AR ) North Little Rock is growing and thriving. Representatives from the North Little Rock Visitors Bureau, the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, North Little Rock Economic Development, Main Street Argenta, and local developers have joined together to form Argenta Adventures™ to attract attention and generate enthusiasm North Little Rock’s residential and retail developments, restaurants, and attractions.
The Argenta Adventures™ committee will host the first in a series of special events on Thursday, October 12 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The most visible attraction being developed at this time is the Dickey-Stephens Park. The public will be invited to view the construction site and sign their names on a permanent beam that will be used in the Arkansas Travelers’ new home. Attendees will be thrilled to have the opportunity to get a preview of the ball park and see the great progress before its grand opening in April, 2007. It won’t be hard to imagine the Arkansas Travelers winning every home game at such a fantastic facility. The Dickey-Stephens Park will be an enjoyable experience to the teams as well as the fans.
Willow Street will be closed to vehicular traffic so event attendees can enjoy music and other entertainment in conjunction with the beam signing. Tents and tables will be set up on Willow so information can be provided about new residential and office developments, attractions, restaurants, retail, and other businesses in North Little Rock . This event is open to the public at no charge. Highlights of the Argenta Adventures™ event will include activities especially for children such as a rock climbing wall, performances by the STARS of North Little Rock High School , face painting, inflatables from the Arkansas Twisters, and special appearances by the Arkansas Travelers mascot Shelly and the North Little Rock Fire Department’s Sparky. Pulaski Technical College will have games and special activities for children as well. Adults won’t want to miss the special performance of the Arkansas Celtic Music Society hosted by Cregeen’s Irish Pub (a new restaurant opening in early 2007 on North Little Rock ’s Main Street ) and a book signing by Arkansas ’s own Maxine Brown Russell, international singing artist and author of “Looking Back to See.” The Wildcat Foundation will be selling hot dogs, popcorn, water and soft drinks to benefit North Little Rock ’s students.
While in downtown North Little Rock , attendees are encouraged to visit one of Main Street Argenta’s great restaurants for dinner! Visit www.northlittlerock.org for a full listing of all North Little Rock ’s restaurants. Call 758-1424 if you would like more information about this exciting Argenta Adventures™ event.
